FROM ART TO THERAPY TO ART TO THERAPY TO ART TO THERAPY TO ART

Summercamp 2010

4Arts in Edinburgh

Anna Butler set up the „4Arts“ conference -affiliated to ECArtE- in order to develop a better communication between international artistic therapy students. The first conference took place in Ottersberg (Germany) five years ago. Next locations were the Netherlands, Spain and Greek. This year eleven students of the FH Ottersberg participated in the 4Arts, located in Edinburgh (Scotland). The students collected numerous useful and inspirational experiences within the four days of the conference, which was mostly hold in the Gillis Centre in Edinburgh. Lectures and workshops were offered in different disciplines: Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, Dance Movement Therapy and Music Therapy.

The informative and diversified lectures were hold by therapists from different european nations. In contrast to that the workshops featured a platform for students to try out their skills. There were workshops for example in „Authentic Movement“/ Dance Movement Therapy, „Impro Theatre“/ Drama Therapy (led by Neele Leske, TS student from FH Ottersberg).

Participants of 4Arts in autumn 2010 were:
Wiebke Herzberg, Mechthild Grote, Julia Papenfuß, Christian Hauke, Jin Choung, Damaris Schmidetzki, Maria Wende, Sabrina Loll, Christina Marth - this time as Erasmus-student in Edinburgh - all of them students of Art Therapies / Kunsttherapie, and Neele Leske and Tina Pfeiffer, students of TS.
Lena Dohmeyer earlier studied in Ottersberg. She was in Edinburgh at the 4Arts meeting, too.
